Galway 2040 Initiative

The G2040 initiative is supported by Galway Chamber of Commerce, NUI Galway, GMIT and the two local authorities. Its focus is to facilitate a community conversation between the inhabitants of the Galway region, the leaders of industry, education and authorities to develop a better Galway for the future. Initiated by Paul Shelly (Galway Chamber of Commerce) and Rory O’Connor (GMIT & Ex HP) the project comes at a critical time in Irish history where the country is in serious economic trouble and the G2040 initiative as an ongoing forum hopes to involve the wider regional community in helping identify and solve some of the current issues as we build a platform for the future to the year 2040.
